Man, I had two ladies today make me feel like a king. I was shopping for a gift for my wife. I don't have a lot of money. The first store I went to made me feel poor and useless. The woman behind the counter was even rolling her eyes at me as we talked. But when I came to the store with these women, they got so excited that I just wanted to celebrate my wife that they helped me find something nice and even gift wrapped it. One of them even talked to others in store, telling them how happy she was that I was doing something for my wife just because I appreciate her. Random sweet ladies rock.
Like when I first moved to this new city and didn't really know anyone, an older lady who works at the gas station i frequent always talked to me and we lamented the life of covid precautions together. Fast forward a few weeks (my hubs and I started buying our energy drinks in bulk online so i didn't go into the gas station everyday anymore), and i go into the gas station and see her and we start chatting and she says she was worried about me since she didn't see me for a while....and just...it made my day. Being so far from family and not knowing anyone, and to know that this almost seemingly random, kind, older lady was thinking of me just made me feel so good inside.
A lady stopped me in the grocery store last week so she could take a picture of my outfit. She said she wanted to show her daughter-in-law how stylish it was. That’ll probably carry me through the rest of the year.
