I hated fast food because at the end of the day it wasn’t worth it. Felt like busting my ass just to smell like stagnant oil and maybe maybe I could still make rent and pay gas. I remember one time putting $0.70 in the tank and just looking at my ragged Wendy’s uniform reflection in the car window and thinking “what is life even?”
I think if I could have just been able to afford more than rent and pennies in the tank, the job would have been infinitely more pleasant and I might have given more of a shit about the customers
