Texas logic is you get 3 years to develop into a person before you're allowed to be killed by someone else. I can't say you deserved it until you're potty trained.
May 2014: Cops decided to do a no-knock warrant because some snitch claimed a man was dealing drugs. The man didn't know who is breaking in through a window of his apartment at 5am so he started shooting because he'd been told he has a right to defend his property in Texas. In the process he killed a cop. If I recall correctly, no drugs were found. They may or may not have found or planted some drug paraphernalia.
He is still in jail awaiting trial to this day on capital murder charges. Seven years later it has still not gone to trial! Source And older source with much more information on the case (but behind a paywall at New York Times) is here.
