I’m 63. I had a job in high school (1970’s) working for a guy in his 80’s. He still worked every day. His first job was delivering mail in a horse and buggy. The defining experience of his life was the Great Depression. That, more than all the technological, political and social change was the one thing he couldn’t wrap his head around. He was a lonely old miser because he lived in fear it would happen again.
Someone who was 20 in 1903 and watched the Wright Brothers take their first flight, would be 70 in 1953 and could purchase a normal commercial airline ticket to fly from New York to Los Angeles
