I'm going through this struggle myself right now. I work remotely right now so I can go check out a place during my lunch break but it's still a struggle. When it's rent by owner then they seem to be more open to late showings, but a lot of the rental agents I've been talking to won't do a showing after 5 because they're off the clock at that point.
When I moved into my apartment complex about 2.5 years ago, one of their big selling points was this state-of-the-art fitness center that was almost ready to open. It's in the same building as the leasing office, and there was supposed to be a separate entrance / elevator so that the gym could be 24/7 when the rest of the building was closed.
Someone dropped the ball on that during the design / construction process. So now, our complex has this amazing, state-of-the-art gym...that's only open during normal business hours.

My brother had a guy book all his showings from 8-3 Tue - Fri ... Then ask "why isn't anyone showing?"
They're at work dumbass... New your house is on the market for 2 months and people are going to wonder what's wrong with it.
