First the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, said that he will make Bitcoin a legal tender in his country. And he doesn’t just say it: he does it and the Assembly passes a law. Now it seems that other leaders want to follow this path.

Iran President Hassan Rouhani stated this week that he wants to legalize cryptocurrencies as soon as possible, stating at a meeting of the government’s Economic Coordination Board:

“To legalize the activity of cryptocurrencies and protect the capital of people in this area, we must think of a solution as soon as possible and establish the necessary laws and instructions.”

In addition to the above, Rouhani said, according to a report on his official website, that cryptocurrency investments are risky and “unprofessional entry into this field should be avoided.”

It is worth noting that Iran has not implemented any regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies, but last year it changed the law to use bitcoins for imports.

Wow this post headline is so misleading.

Rouhani also said:

"Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for the establishment of a legal framework for cryptocurrencies and warned consumers of the risks in the industry.

....

Investments in crypto are risky and “unprofessional entry in this field should be avoided.”

I guess that's one way to not worry about sanctions.
