I hate to be the one negative comment here, but I didn’t know that this was a thing until recently. I didn’t realize that one could feel cute/hot, and be proud of how they look. I always look in the mirror and am like “yup that’s me” even when I try putting nice clothes on and being all groomed and whatnot, just never got there I guess.
I always make a point of complimenting people when I see something I like, man or woman. :)
I will just tell them I love their shirt/haircut etc. Something honest and friendly but not easily misinterpreted as flirting.
If I see a person sporting something I like (my favorite band on a shirt, a cool hairstyle) I make a point of telling them. Always makes people smile. :) It feels good to spread a bit of kindness!

My new habit is to make one honest compliment a day without any ulterior motive behind it. I am trying to be more positive. The world needs that.
