I had an ex girlfriend that got a suicide headache from the nerve in her face going haywire. That was a rough day.

Back when I was a nurse I took care of a gentleman that I would see on a semi-weekly basis on the floor. He had these and have a pretty harrowing explanation of how awful they are. After explaining to the new doctors over and over on the regimen that works best for his treatment, everyone wanted to try something new for him. A new migraine pill, a different anti-inflammatory, etc. Every two weeks he'd be back. So sad... Until one month I had realized it had been like 2 months since I had seen him. Thought to myself, oh, good, one of these new meds must be working for him... Until I saw one of the staff internal medicine docs came around and I inquired about him. They asked me if I had read the recent obituaries online recently.

Tylenol overdose was the word on the street. He just couldn't take it anymore. His wife had that demeanor that she knew what was coming months ago. I don't think I could wish them on my worst enemy... The misery on his face when I saw him is something that still sticks with me 15 years later.
