working hard only rewards you with harder work. if you put out 100% every day at your job you still end up in the same place you started, like running on a fucking treadmill.

9 fuckin years of busting my ass and im leaving. HR tellin me we have to do an exit interview. "Disregard, i have to say its a surprise youre leaving, all our customers love you and the people at HQ have nothing but great things to say about you" well if that were true then why is it that i have to quit in order to better my career? is that enough for you to take back to the brown nosers?

i went to my boss about the work disparity (i was doing 200% of my peers) and wanted a raise

he said, “the horse that pulls the hardest gets whipped the most”

my productivity immediately dropped and i havent looked back - fuck corporate america

edit: This comment is getting some attention so I’ll just say, this is one of dozens of similar awful/demoralizing interactions I’ve had. I was a high ranking manager at a small company (worked with the ceo directly) and transitioned to this larger company and... ya’ll... corporate America is so much worse off than you can imagine. Waste, ineptitude, greed, corruption. I said in a comment elsewhere that they laid off thousands of employees due to the pandemic, and ended up having the most profitable year in their history because business never went down, it went up, and we suddenly had significantly less staff doing even more work - meanwhile thousands of people jobless during a pandemic.

And the ends do not justify the means because the company overall is struggling relative to competitors, because our quality and delivery times suck, because we nickel and dime everywhere. Seriously, So many of these big companies should be torn apart because what grows from the rubble can only be better.

It is just depressing to see someone with less talent and worked less than you become more successful solely based on their family background. Who you know is more important than what you do. The wealthy tells the general public to be happy living the simple life while they continue to hoard wealth and live decadently at the expense of others.
