The restaurant my sister waits at was recently filmed for a knock-off of KN. Kitchen Impossible or something, a poor man's GR lol. Anyway, the owner applied for it, they did do some cleaning and stuff beforehand, but they definitely were not preplanning any work. He really just wanted free work done to his place.

My sister hated the experience, but I take that with about a shaker-full of salt. She has seen all of these shows, she knows they thrive on drama (US), all that. I don't know what she expected. Apparently she got really emotional at some point and was crying and she really thinks that won't be on TV, bless her heart. She thought the production crew was "rude," but she also just doesn't like anyone telling her what to do, and I'm sure they weren't trying to kiss her ass. 🤷🏻‍♀️

They ended up finding some major issues, which the show paid out a whole lot more than their budget to repair, which was pretty cool of them, I think. In my opinion, the end result was just okay, and I fully expect the owner to continue to run the place into the ground. You can renovate a building but you can't change someone's basic personality or lack of business sense.
