Mangos are related to poison ivy believe it or not. An ex ate a mango once and got an itchy poison ivy-like rash all over her mouth/face

“Mango is in the same botanical family as poison ivy. The sap of the tree and the rind of the mango fruit contain urushiol, the oil that causes the poison ivy rash.”

Mango harvesters wash the fruit immediately in a special detergent to neutralize the irritants in the sap. https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/business-priorities/agriculture/plants/fruit-vegetable/fruit-vegetable-crops/mangoes/faqs-about-mangoes/faqs-about-harvesting-mangoes
