I switched jobs twice in the past year (same industry). Each time I got roughly a 25% raise. I had no idea until then how severely I was being underpaid two jobs ago

Work for a huge company and they tell us the same thing. We talk about it freely and have made sure the new guys aren't getting screwed over.
