That how you know a team is tight. When they can be complete idiots around each other and relaxed about it.
I had a boss that didn’t understand that. I was working with a gaggle of Southern Ladies on a data entry project. We were all talking up a storm while their fingers flew on the computer screens.
My boss pulled me aside and said “They are spending all their time taking ! They are not getting anything done “
I showed him the data entry statistics.
“They are getting more done that our Ohio team. You’ve never seen a quilting bee ?”
He looked at the numbers. Nodded. And went away.
I went right back to getting teased and having a great time.
