Let's face it: it is time to go to Universal Healthcare. The last 60 yrs has proven the privatized healthcare insurance to be massively lacking.. And for those about cost: you actually will have higher taxes but not the $400 per month minimum premium most face

There's a phrase for this dystopia type of stuff, 'A true dystopia is a society in which it's inhabitants think it's a utopia'

This tweet gets reposted frequently, and is extremely misleading. The child wasn't approved for an electric wheelchair because his young age means he isn't able to use one safely. Young children usually practice using electric chairs in physical/occupational therapy and once they've proven they can use one, then insurance will cover it. Electric chairs are heavy, and if the user drives down a stair or curb and the chair tips over it could injure or even kill them.

Additionally, the $20,000 price is referencing highly modified chairs that are designed to look like a race car or Barbie mobile. A standard electric chair is more like $2000—$6000.

From an article about the situation:

"Cillian still lacks some of the maturity and focus to drive an electric wheelchair in a public setting, which is the primary reason why he hasn't been approved for one. Frankly, we haven't even tried yet because we know he would be denied based on the proficiency requirement," Tyler Jackson said.
