I’m a teacher and I’ve works jobs at night before. With dependents on insurance and saving for the summer, I had to do what I needed to survive. The one time I saw a student and their family, I was so embarrassed. I quit the next day. It was a retail store that sold furniture and the kid asked me “why are you working here?” I just said for extra Christmas money, but I felt so low.

My best friend’s father in high school taught at a private school during the day and delivered Papa John’s at night.
Teachers simply aren’t paid enough unless you’ve got tenure at a university.
