You can also do this for your adult kids to raise their score, friends who have filed bankruptcy recently, etc. You don’t have to tell them the card number, issuer, or anything and they have no way of hurting your credit score with it.

It is insane that people need to “lifehack” their way back to normal life after they’ve served their sentence. (Or ever, really; but this obstacle in particular sounds like a recipe for recidivism.)

We’ve done this with our immigrant family members and in less than a year everyone has a nearly 800 credit score. Which means they’re able to get a much better start in life than me and my husband did 15 years ago!
