I just found out that my neighbors tell their dog I'm outside when they want him to hurry up and get out the door. This is him waiting for a treat from me.
When I was younger I had a dachshund. She was typically stubborn, especially with my mother. But pretty quickly the dog learned “I’m going to go get the girl!” meant she got a car ride to pick me up from school. Which my mother used to her advantage for awhile.
My neighbors dog is the biggest sweetheart. He loves people so whenever he goes into the backyard he’ll run up the entire length of the yard to look into my windows.
It’s absolutely adorable because sometimes I’ll be looking out a window looking for him like a long lost lover and I’ll see him staring into my window looking for me like a long lost lover.
I’ll go outside and yell “oh hey butters!” And my he’ll lose his shit and do some zoomies to find a favorite toy or stick and come up to the fence vibrating with joy.

My neighbors just got a new puppy, when they let her out she comes to me door and barks to tell me it's time to play!
