The new high school inn my town was built just after Colombine in 1999 or so. They made one [road] entrance/exit to the whole school thinking it would be easier to track who's coming and going. But instead it just created huge backups of cars and busses for all the staff, students, visitors, evening sports events... some ideas look good on paper but never thought through fully.

wouldn't having pre-planned places to hide be redundant if the shooter is a student at the school and they would know how to get there from drills?
