I’m surprised how close to the centre the Union Jack ended up. I would have guessed that the blue would dominate.

Fun fact: the French navy uses a flag with less blue and more red, because when a flag is flying in the wind, the end further from the halyard curls more, so it appears shorter. Image, proportions are 30%, 33%, 37%.
