I felt bad a couple days ago. Only 2 registers were open and lines were long. At about 15 before my end of shift, I asked my manager if someone is coming and yes, once they finish their lunch which is slightly before my end of shift. I continue and as soon as the clock struck 8 (and I finished with current customer) I look at him. He gave a big sigh and replaced me until my true replacement came in. I felt bad and contemplated staying for overtime but decided not.
Even as I walked away, some annoying woman asked if I was opening another register and huffed when I said no
