An Apache helicopter has machine guns AND missiles. It is an unbelievably impressive complement of weaponry, an absolute death machine.

Brought to you by the people who can't tell the difference between the Constitution of the United States of America and a Terms of Service agreement

"identifying as an attack helicopter" is the Annoying Orange of right-wing jokes: got out of the hand pretty fast, is really fucking old and cheap and both are clearly just meant to antagonize people.

I'm in my 30s listening to a lot of people on the Right expressing concern over Cancel Culture and how it's a phenomenon exclusive to the left and my first thought is; Did we grow up on the same planet? Because up until the mid 2000s I remember seeing the Right on a seemingly perpetual bullshit campaign to end (read: cancel) media, artists, celebrities and anything they didn't agree with usually in the name of Christian morals.

I saw Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" and the subsequent controversy that brought her super stardom to a screeching halt. Where the outraged Right inspired stricter censorship and regulation over media networks.

I remember Jack Thompson a former lawyer who lobbied on behalf of Christian Right wing groups to ban/regulate/censor the production and sale of Hip Hop during the late 80s to early 90s and video games from the mid 90s to mid 2000s. Jack Thompson who would eventually be disbarred in 2007-8 I believe.

I remember this and much more enough to know that if the shoe were on the other foot they would be singing a different tune.

Edit: At one point I was trying to reply to all of you because it is actually an interesting conversation to have reflecting on the then vs now and how the different sides do the same thing but this is too many comments.
