I was detained and almost arrested for breaking into a car once.

Except it was my car.

And I wasn't breaking into it.

I was exiting it to enter a gas station.

Fun times.

I once came home to see that my garage was broken into and that my bicycle was stolen. It was my first experience of being burgled and so I was rightly shook up. I called the cops to report it and after they finally arrived they “investigated” and determined that I probably did it. Though I was an hour away at dinner with 10 witnesses. Based on the evidence I could clearly see how they entered and exited but the cop saw it backwards. He was a jerk and treated my ex and I like crap. We called to file a complaint on him and never heard anything back.

I once got home from work just in time to witness a drugged out dude smash out the windows of 4 different cars. While on the phone with the cops I see that he starts to drive away. I got in my car and follow him only to be told by police that I should go back to the scene and wait for the cops to get there. Over the course of 7 HOURS, ( no cops show up in this entire time) the guy leaves and comes back multiple times. The last time he parked right in front of my apartment and I watch him grab something out of his car and walk towards more cars. I called the cops for the 6th or 7th time and tell them that he has ANOTHER weapon. They eventually show up and arrest him. Turns out he was just tripping his balls off and thought he was at his apartment complex and got evicted by his roommates? Idfk but it made me lose all faith in the MNPD.
