I wouldn't say reanimated, the truth is more horrifying than a reanimated zombie spider. The real truth is the spider is still alive, but slowly dying, while it's infected with this fungus. It can still move and it's still as mentally functional as a spider can get, while the fungus grows in its body. Eventually the spider dies, and the fungus fruits out of its body. Imagine your entire body, and every organ, being infected with a cancer that's growing everywhere and the last part of you to die is your brain.
