All Republican lawmakers except for one left the House chamber on Tuesday as GOP Rep. Liz Cheney blasted former President Donald Trump and Republicans who had refused to condemn him.

In a speech to Congress, Cheney criticized those in her party who had not censured Trump's false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him, describing the claims as part of his "crusade to undermine our democracy."

The CNN reporter Annie Grayer tweeted: "Ken Buck is the only lawmaker watching Liz Cheney speak on the House floor. The rest cleared out."

Buck, a Republican, represents Colorado's 4th District.

The CNN anchor Anderson Cooper also said while reporting on Cheney's speech: "I just heard it in my ear that her colleagues, fellow lawmakers, Republican lawmakers, they cleared out of the chamber when she was speaking. Only one remained to even listen to what she was saying."

Cheney's colleagues are set to vote on Wednesday on whether to remove her from her leadership positions and replace her with Rep. Elise Stefanik, a Trump loyalist. Cheney is the House GOP conference chair and the third-highest-ranking Republican in the House.

This is cult behavior. The GOP and all that follow are cult members. I’m not saying this to be funny, I am saying this because this is what we have to deal with.

This is frightening. They're united in punishing someone for simply telling the truth. They're punishing her for refusing to embrace a lie so audacious that no reasonable person would ever believe it. And these fascists are one midterm away from holding a majority again.

I waited 20 years to see a Cheney get punished for lying and all I got was this lousy seeing a Cheney get punished for not lying.
