Because your boyfriend needs to submit the complaint on your behalf.

I had a doctor tell me that I couldn't stop birth control without my mothers approval. I was 22. I stopped taking it and going to the appointments and switched doctors. Fuck that place

When I was a teenager I had such a heavy period that I was anemic and was put on a birth control monthly injection. My insurance only covered it if it was purely for my period. I was a virgin and went to church every Sunday. Every month I got my injection and had to answer if I’d had sex or not. If I had sex, it would be considered birth control so I had to refrain from sex or risk being anemic with a heavy period. Every once in awhile my doctors office would straight up lie by billing my insurance for giving me the safe sex talk, despite never actually giving me the talk. When this happened I’d get a bill for my injection and the nonexistent sex talk, since it was then considered birth control. I’d have to call my insurance company and insist I was a virgin in order to avoid the bill.
