Sony has a few aces up its sleeve, including The Last of Us Remake. We can’t count on the big surprise of revealing the game, but players are nonetheless to be surprised by the quality of the refresh. The developers use The Last of Us 2 engine.

The Last of Us universe will be significantly expanded in the future. Neil Druckmann confirmed that although he prepared the outline of the script, at least currently we cannot count on The Last of Us 3. The brand will be developed, however – the series “The Last of Us” is being created , and additionally Naughty Dog is to create The Last of Us Remake.

Jason Schreier revealed information about the game but did not mention any details. These were received by the GameReactor editors, which emphasize that the developers are working on something more than just refreshing:

While it would have been a lot of fun to see the world’s reaction to a surprise reveal of this project, Schreier’s report about what’s been going on at PlayStation Studios lately spoiled it to some degree. I say to some degree because people seem to think this will basically just be in the vein of The Last of Us: Remastered. Let’s not blow expectations out of the water by hyping it up too much, but this won’t be a “simple” improvement of resolution, framerate and textures. The kennel is going to really take advantage of PlayStation 5’s power and features with the The Last of Us: Part II engine. Not just in terms of graphics, but a few other things as well.

GameReactor has repeatedly revealed the details that were later presented by the developers, but of course we have to wait for a specific show. Nevertheless, these words are really interesting because The Last of Us 2 engine will make the game much more beautiful.

The creators are also to “use the power and capabilities of PlayStation 5”, so maybe it will not actually be a regular refreshment?

The Last of Us was originally released for the PS3 in 2013 and was remastered for the PS4 the following year.
