My dad bought me this game on release as well as the then brand new Xbox.
We sat in his living room and he watched me play for a couple hours. My parents were divorced at the time so it was just me and him at his house. He was reading the manual while I was playing and I remember when I got in the warthog he told me “Be careful son! The book says it flips over really easy!”
4 years later I was playing Halo 2 level “Outskirts” riding a ghost on the beach at my moms house, when we got a phone call saying my dad had passed away in a car wreck.
Man I miss him so much. Halo always reminds me of him and I’ve loved the series ever since.

I remember shooting up at the other side of the ring and imagining some grunt on the other side getting sniped in the top of the head.
