Hey, remember that time that immigration reform passed the senate with well over 60 votes and had the president’s support and the support of a wide majority of house members but Boehner refused to bring it to the floor because it didn’t have a majority support among Republicans in the house? Yeah, our system was broken even before Trump showed us how badly broken it is.

The checks and balances should work, the only problem is that it only works when the people it applies to want to actually do their fucking jobs
