Hopefully this will be a wakeup to law enforcement and their enablers to start moving towards that concept of equal justice under the law. Not going to hold my breath but it's a start.
Most telling was the willingness of so many officers to testify against Chauvin. It may only be a crack in the blue wall of silence, but it's a start and hopefully those cracks start widening until it crumbles.
Edit: Since this is getting so much attention, please speak up and speak out against injustice. I know I'm largely safe from a dangerous interaction with law enforcement just based on my skin color, but that is not universal. And that's a problem. A major one. Too many use their badge as a shield. I don't want to be one of them.
I am required to go through massive amounts of mandatory training each year on appropriate use of my badge. It's sickening that so many misuse theirs to cause harm. I don't believe it will end while I serve, but I never want to be part of the problem. Stand up for your fellows. Be the change everyday. Best to you all!
