Ted Lieu Mocks House GOP Over 'America First' Caucus: 'Will Non Aryans Be Allowed to Join?'

California Congressman Ted Lieu called out Republican Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar over the new 'America First' caucus in a tweet on Saturday.

Lieu mocked the caucus by posing a series of questions directed at those two Republican House members. He implied that those joining were racist and wouldn't treat non-white lawmakers who would join equally.

"Will non Aryans be allowed to join?" he wrote. "If so, do we have to sit in the back of the room because we're not white?"

Punchbowl News reported about the formation of the caucus and released a seven-page flyer that details the caucus's stances on election fraud, immigration, infrastructure and other issues. People criticized the caucus, calling it racist.

In his tweets, Lieu also made frequent references to a line in the "immigration" section of the flyer that read: "America is a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions."

Lieu continually referred to the caucus as the "Anglo-Saxon caucus."

As previously reported, Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger tweeted on Friday evening calling on his GOP colleagues to expel members of the caucus, as well as stripping them of their committee duties.

"I believe anyone that joins this caucus should have their committees stripped, and the Republican conference should expel them from conference participation. While we can't prevent someone from calling themselves Republican, we can loudly say they don't belong to us," the Illinois representative wrote.

Despite the criticisms levied against the caucus, GOP Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz tweeted his support, saying he was "proud to join."

Following Gaetz's announcement that he was joining, Lieu mocked the caucus by making light of recent allegations against the Florida congressman of a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl, which includes an investigation into trafficking. The California representative referenced a Daily Beast report that indicated that Gaetz had Venmo'd an associate who then Venmo'd three teens.

"I wonder if their caucus has secret signals and means of communications, like secret Aryan Venmo handles?" he wrote.

Earlier Lieu had responded to Democratic Arizona Representative Ruben Gallego, who had said he wouldn't join in legislation with members of the caucus. "I'm planning on joining their Anglo-Saxon caucus so I could sit in their meetings because my mere presence as a non Aryan would scare them," Lieu wrote and invited Gallego to join him.

He also jokingly wrote about eating churros and chow mein as a dessert to get on members of the caucus's nerves.
