So no lie, I met a lady last year that was convinced to give her ENTIRE, half-million dollar retirement, to a con man. Like, he/ she convinced her, her husband, and her father; that he would double their money with gold bars. Bring them in illegally, exchange them for their weight, and get reimbursed double.
I just couldn't imagine myself falling for it but she was and is now again, a nurse.
