They all want the responsibility of making their own choices but they never want to take responsibility for the consequences of those choices. My sympathy well has run dry.

I work in an ICU. I see this every. day.

I have one patient right now, roughly 45y.o., who babysat for his sisters kid. Sister didn't tell him that the kid tested positive and was on home quarantine from school. Dude's not going to make it. Day 15. Intubated.

I had another one last year. 68y.o. husband wanted to throw a surprise birthday party for his wife. Invited the whole family. Son-in-law brought CoVid to the party. Husband died in my ICU. Wife is on permanent oxygen at home.

Nothing but broken families.

Had someone try to decline a ventilator today because the wife said they had so many people praying and they wanted to wait until the prayers had time to work lol. I’m like his had Covid a week, we will give you an hour to decide if you want to try a vent or die right here peacefully.
