Was there more Mormons in the 70s too? I'm in Illinois and I get a lot of Mormons knocking on my door. I don't answer that shit. I did once, and that was a mistake. No bashing Mormons.... just not my thing.
A guy was knocking on my door the other day. He refused to say who he was and kept knocking and saying "open the door", then he said he is from Caribe Express, a company for sending money like Western Union, but they don't pay visits. You have to go to their place to get the money. My wife told him "we won't open unless you say who you are", and the guy gave up and went down the stairs cursing and left.
