Had no smart tv. Added an overclocked Raspberry Pi with a Pi Hole and an additional Webbrowser config and that works like a charm. Can recommend for people who aren't afraid of consoles/terminals. Edit: as many people asked - NO the pi hole does NOT block firetv/... stick ads. It only blocks ads from devices that don't have hard coded DNS servers. And thank you for the award kind redditor
I replaced my living room roku with a fire stick so I can control it with my echo. But it's slow and so ad filled that I am debating on moving it back.
