At my first job the GM told me this and its always stuck with me;

"The customer is usually wrong, but sometimes we have to make them FEEL like they're right"

A company I used to work at had the motto "Customer is King".

And we definitely treated a lot of the annoying, rude ones like that: "Sure, I can do that for you. It's not the best decision for you but you don't know any better and are obnoxious so here you go, dumbass."

Treat them like your King, aka someone who will get what they want, but at the least amount of quality possible without them noticing. Because they're too stupid to know any better when they are on an ego-trip.

I once worked for an RV dealership where if a salesman reached their monthly sales bonus we could choose either cash, a pair of custom ostrich cowboy boots or a card permitting us to tell one customer to get off the lot and never come back. You can only wear so many pairs of boots...
