I feel this really hard. I spent literally all last night, like 10 hours, making little cicadas out of clay - a friend bought one earlier and it's like yaaaaay. Even if I never sell the rest I'd probably be happy.
So, im 34 and spent 12 years in the Marines as a grunt. When I got out my dad pretty much made me promise him I wouldn't get a fine arts degree. Fast forward a year and I started college as a kinesiology major- happy dad. A year later I was an English major. Whoooo was my dad mildly upset. Until a poetry website started publishing my work and then out a poem in their yearly anthology book. My dad has probably bought 20 of them and is sending them out to all our family. He couldn't make it to watch the play I wrote being performed but has watched the shitty iPad recording a few times.
