"She struggled to contain her offspring, as it relentlessly pulled on the leash around its neck, saliva dripping from the mouth, its high pitching whining intermittedly broken up by the low grumbling of a beast that's ready to pounce at any moment"

Ugh. I wish that sub was less toxic. I’m childfree and want to stay that way. I wanted a community for people (especially women) sharing their struggles with the pressure to have children and concerns with bad parents/guardians.

I remember when “breeder” was only used as a joke and only referring to bad parents who constantly have kids and are always expecting a new one. Usually the term was reserved for those who make having kids their entire personalities.

Clearly, that’s changed. It’s become a standard term and no longer seems to be used in jest. That isn’t the main reason I left the sub, but the radical voices are getting louder and the fact that this fake story gets upvotes undermines those with genuine issues.

On behalf of childfree people, I want to apologize to those with kids and those who want them. Many of us love children and respect your decisions if they’re made with care.

EDIT: I happened to check the sub and apparently the post was deleted. So...there’s that!
