Grew up in a poorer neighborhood.. if you don’t have anything valuable in the car, we would just leave our doors unlocked. It at least saves your window from being broken
A friend of mine rented out a town house in Baltimore. He told his tenants leave your car unlocked and bring everything inside at night. People will come by open the doors see nothing and leave. If the doors are locked they’ll break your window and take what they can.
Another friend of mine that lived In Baltimore confirmed that’s what he did. He even took his radio out of the car at night. He told me once or twice a year he’d “forget” and lock his car. Sure enough he’d hear the alarm go off.
