My mom was a country farm girl from NC and ended up working for NASA building circuit boards that went into the Apollo capsules and my dad was a surveyor that used to use me on the weekends to plant stakes in snake infested relatively, uninhabited Florida. I was always up to date on space exploration and how to deal with reptiles.
I have a similar photo of my grandparents during their first Christmas in 1955. My grandma was pregnant with my dad (he was born two weeks later), and they just looked so happy. I wanted the photo that hung in their trailer, but I got a 3x5 black and white photograph of the photo itself from my aunt. At least I got it in some capacity.
