In terms of actual facts, this study by the Police Foundation did a study of 2-4 years of sexual assault data from Tucson, Atlanta, Dallas and Miami. The outcome was a finding of zero incidents by transgender people or men claiming to be women in public restrooms. On the other hand, this site cites, with primary research sources, up to 66% of transgender people suffering sexual assault, and up to 15% being assaulted by police officers while in custody (doubled to 32% for Black transgender).
