I was accused of plagiarizing a pretty unremarkable comment by a mod because, days after my comment was made, a quote from it appeared among the random text some bot scraped to generate a “blog post” around some keywords. It was the most bewildering experience.
This reminds me of my 8th grade year. My art teacher had us remember all of the local art museum’s painting’s title and artist. My bff and I studied together everyday after school for hours and after the test felt like we Aced it.
We both got called into administrative rooms separately and were accused of cheating. It was so humiliating and disheartening that we both broke down crying and couldn’t believe what had happened.
One time I had to sit through a training on how to write medical notes with my shift partner. The examples they were using to teach were all my notes. When I pointed this out the trainer pulled a second set of notes to use as an example. The look on my shift partners face when they pulled his notes was priceless.
