These idiots think "evidence" is like a Pokémon where you just pick something and throw it out and then the other person has to throw out their own. Just because you really really want to have a Pokémon battle...
I recall seeing one motivational poster among the many in my middle school classrooms, that was basically this, but serious: “Stand for what you believe in, even if that means you stand alone!” and I remember thinking how utterly double-edged that stance can be.
edit: I found the poster and curse my fuzzy memory, it’s not about belief, but even so, it’s a similar sentiment and “what is right” can also be, uh, subjective
