Had such an argument with an ex boyfriend about this. He was so defensive. Found out later it’s because he had sex with (raped) two different 15 year olds- once when he was about 25 and the second time when he was 35. Glad we don’t talk anymore.
The news be like: “He had sex with an underage woman, the recent court case has seriously affected his mental health and he just wants this stressful time to be over.”

I misread it as “undergraduate” and thought she was gate keeping, but nope, she’s just spitting facts.
