Wow I didn’t know that rich people in the 20’s didn’t always know where their next meal was coming from, had unstable housing that they could be ejected from at a moments notice, and lived with the reality that they would work until their back gave out and never be able to retire.

What even is the context here? Like better compared to what? Rich people in the 1920s had mansions and butlers, ate at the fanciest restaurants, drove the nicest cars for their time. Poor people today work 60 hours a week and have McDonald's. Are we considering air conditioning to mean "better".
