I had a similar issue once in the past, but with another bank. I do have a German name with the characters "ue" in it. In written German language, the special character "ü" can be transcribed to "ue". For example "Tür" (=door) could also be written as "Tuer" if you do not have a chance to write an "ü" on a keyboard for example or if a font does not support "ü".

However, the bank wrote my name with "ü" as they interpreted my "ue" as such which is plain wrong. My name is even spoken as separate "u-e". It was a very strange thing and even took 2 iterations for the bank to correct it.

I bought my wedding ring online and it came with an engraving. I didn't want the engraving so I left the field blank. My ring came engraved with "TBD" on the inside.
