Alot of the time when kids die be it naturally or a sids thing, the parents almost seem like they understand. Suicide is different man. Its almost like howling, instinctual. Truly basic sorrow. Not a lot of things keep me up at night, thats one of the things. Adults die all the time and they were probably assholes (at least thats how I play it in my head to get through it) but kids man, they deserve a life and hormones will fuck all of that up.

This is why I respect paramedics so much, they save lives at the cost of sometimes their own sanity.
I can't imagine seeing something like that and being ok mentally for the next week.

My mom works in drug recovery and 3 times a year a get a call from her. She'll already be sobbing as she tells me to never do heroin.
Usually she'll be working with a younger person who seems to be recovering really well and then OD out of nowhere.
That's when she calls me.
