I gotta danish friend, who said while she was in America, every time she went to a grocery store someone would come up to her and start talking about what she was buying. Apparently the most memorable was this old lady who came up to her and started asking why she was buying milk. I have no idea why they happened to her, I’ve lived here for 19 years and I’ve never been interrogated about my milk even once
When my grandma was alive and would visit the US from the Philippines, I used to love hearing her weird experiences at stores and stuff. Like this one time she came back from a restaurant and was like “why is everything iced? I don’t want ice, is very bad for you. And they won’t stop talking to me when I sit down, I want to talk with my friend,”
