Decriminalize drugs. Reform the police. Stop letting prisons profit. Implement a UBI.
EDIT: I took off the “problem solved” at the end because you weirdos seem to think that I’m saying it’s easy to implement these things. It’s not. It’s next to impossible. I was literally saying that if you do implement these things, the problem will be absolutely solved. Not that it would be easy.
EDIT: Also, those of you saying these are bad ideas, it would be great if you could provide better ones instead of just shooting these ones down. Thanks.
I looked up imprisonment rates recently for a discussion in my local sub. The USA incarcerates more people per capita than ANY OTHER NATION IN THE WORLD, and it's FOUR TIMES HIGHER than the world average! Even California with it's efforts to reduce prison populations is still DOUBLE the rate worldwide!
