I continue to be shocked by the kindness of strangers, I lost a fairly expensive camera lens in sequoia national Forest in California, didn’t realize it till I was already on my way back to Indiana, couple months later I received a lens sized package from the forest department, someone found it out on the trail and turned it in, they could have easily resold it.
Found an iPad in the seat on an international flight once. My friends and I took the flight to Cambodia from the states. Figured the guy wouldnt see it again if we gave it to the airline.
After a lot of scooby doo style detective work, we found the owner. We made a sign with his name, “Marshall, we have your iPad,” and took pictures all around Cambodia. We were teaching English and had the kids make videos on it saying WHATS UP MARRRSHALLL. He ended up only living a few hours away so when we returned to the states we gave it back. I still wonder what we thought about our photos.
