I’ll never forget when overdraft became opt-in by law. The back called me asking if I wanted to “keep my overdraft protection.” To me, overdraft protection means when I’m out of money it will be declined and I won’t be charged $30. It was a deceitful spin by CapitalOne Bank.

Some banks here in the US will stop your deposit and run you withdrawls first then put your deposit in so they can charge you the overdrafts.
